ALBAN GUILLEMOIS is a french illustrator, set designer and filmmaker, he works and lives in Paris. After his fine arts studies (french Beaux-Arts DNSEP) and at the Royal Film School of Newport in the United Kingdom, Alban Guillemois directed short films, collaborated on performing and artistic managing music clips : Axelle Red, Katerine, Fifi Chachnil... Between 2002 and 2012, he works on numerous films, cinema projects, and television animation series, as an author, filmmaker and set designer, collaborates with artists Pierrick Sorin, Charlotte Rampling, Julie Depardieu, Michel Ocelot... « Louis la Lune » (Louis the Moon), a comic strip which excited the critics in 2006 at Albin Michel Editor, sets the landmark of the beginning of his work in comic, other illustrated works will follow, as well as film projects still in progress... He develops a contemporary universe inspired from the 19th century and the German Expressionism, claims the heritage of the oeuvre of J.J Granville’s, Albert Robida’s and Karel Zeman’s works and he exhibits his illustrations worldwide : Berlin, London, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Moscow... and in permanent collection at the "Maison d'Ailleurs" in Switzerland, «Museum of Utopian Science fiction and of fantastic travels ». As a poet in love with strangeress and as a follower of chapism, an antidote against the vulgar world, Alban Guillemois never yields to anyone in the peculiar fields of refinement and dream. | | |
